She was born Oct. 16, 1909 in Pueblo, Colo. She married Norman Soots, former publisher of The Dalles Chronicle. He died in 1992. She is survived by her two daughters: Saundra Bernards and her husband Rick of New Mexico, Normalee Adams and her husband Jim of Washington; her granddaughters Cindy Kamimae and husband Tim of The Dalles, Sherryl Mogren and her husband Neal of Gresham; great-grandchildren Robyn and Ryan Hougham of The Dalles. Contributions may be made to the Norman Soots Memorial Fund at Columbia Gorge Community College. At her request, there will be no service.
